The Guiyang No.14 Middle School Renovation Project in
Guiyang is guided by three fundamental principles—Learning, Movement, and
Nature. The design reimagines the relationship between the campus
environment and student development through a series of architectural and
landscape interventions, including an entrance garden, shared social platforms,
seasonal landscapes, and vertical greening systems. Together, these strategies
transform the school from a purely functional educational facility into a
nurturing environment that supports wellbeing, social interaction, and
long-term memory formation, allowing nature to become an integral part of everyday
learning.

“A school is not only a place for education; it is also a vessel for memory. Long after students leave, we hope they remember not only the classroom itself, but also the changing seasons outside their windows, the energy of the sports fields, and the spaces where friendships were formed. ”
